MIM-4605 Low Alloy Steel MIM Parts

MIM 4605 is a low alloy steel containing carbon, nickel and molybdenum. This steel can be heat treated to achieve high hardness and strength through quenching and tempering. In common quenching and tempering processes, MIM 4605 offers a wide range of strength and wear resistance with hardness up to 36HRC.

MIM 4605 vs MIM 4140

With specific heat treatments, typical hardness can reach 48 HRC. In addition, post-treatments of electroplating and coating are also used to improve corrosion resistance. Common applications for 4605 steel include: automotive, consumer products, powder hand tools.

MIM-4140 Low Alloy Steel MIM Parts
MIM-4140 is a superior low alloy steel that blends advanced materials and precision manufacturing. It combines the versatile Metal Injection Molding (MIM) process with the renowned properties of 4140 steel.

MIM 4605 vs MIM 4140

MIM-4140 alloy has excellent strength, making it ideal for durability applications. Its low alloy composition enhances toughness, allowing it to withstand heavy loads and high stress conditions. MIM-4140 also has excellent machinability, ensuring that complex near-net-shape parts can be accurately produced.

From automotive components to industrial machinery and more, MIM-4140 low alloy steel is the material of choice for complex parts that require a unique combination of strength, toughness and precision.

MIM 4605 and 4140are common low alloys steels for structural applications with high strength and hardness.
